I’m always one for a good girl power/feminine rage novel. This was a good one. I do struggle with the fact that even though Thea learned lessons along the way, she seemed to have had very little growth by the end of the story. It is a series though so maybe the growth comes over time.

Wow, what an introduction to the beginning of a series!!

This has all the tropes I adore best, and executed exceptionally. Well over 500 pages but felt like half that with the speed I powered through this. Consider me obsessed already.

What's not to love about this book? Determined and badass FMC? Check. Brooding and tough MMC? Check. There was great world-building and were wonderful side characters that added depth and intrigue to the story.

The first book really set the stage for what will be an epic series. I immediately fell in love with our main couple, but I’m also immersed in the world and the plot. The twist/reveal at the end really left me wanting the next book immediately, and I cannot wait!

Nothing amazing... Just a filler book for me. But I enjoyednity, just didn't need to keep going.

I liked the story and appreciated that it didn’t feel like many similar books currently making the rounds, but the pacing felt a bit uneven and it failed to make an emotional impact so I was never fully engaged.

a fun ride. nothing earth shattering. the stakes felt a little low and nothing really... happens. I will be reading the second one... hopefully it's a little more eventful. It looks like there's a more even spit with his chapters which is nice since his chapters were kinda my favourite.

anywho it was fun. would recommend but dont be expecting anything earth-shattering. Also for a fantasy book it didn't feel like there was much fantasy 🤔🫣
