An extraordinarily beautiful (and educational) memoir. Sinclair’s poetic talent shines through!

"How to Say Babylon" was a fascinating memoir about growing up in a Rastafarian family and a young woman's complicated relationship with her father. This book is heartbreaking at times, but comes alive with the joy of freedom at others. Sinclair's writing was simply beautiful, and her reading of the audiobook really brought it to life. I knew very little about Rastafarian customs and lifestyles before reading this book, so it was interesting to learn about that. Sinclair explores her familial relationships in depth and how their religion affected it as well as the various temperaments in the house. I would recommend this memoir for autobiography lovers and those interested in reading unique perspectives with great writing.
The only downsides for me was that some parts felt a little long and repetitive, but I understand the author's need to share her story in exactly her own way.
