Plain and simple -> bad. Badbadbadbadbad.

So disappointed. Thought the first book was decent enough despite the obvious flaws, but this one takes the cake for pointless additions in a series.

Nothing happened. The RH nature is definitely not a thing, I don't know why it's labeled as an RH because again, nothing happened and they're staying away from her because of angst and immature writing/style choices. "I crave her so much and that's why I have to stay away from her." Jesus, I thought I left this behind with the 2000's YA genres. It's New Adult because of the ages and content, but it definitely comes off as a first-time writer's foray into the stupidly annoying YA side of things.

All the characters were immature and extremely childish, and there was no relationship development between any of the characters. I didn't believe in Moira and Ruby's friendship and "we'll die for each other" schtick. The guys were all useless. They're thousands of years old! Their characterizations made no sense.

The instalust is annoying as shit now. I don't understand it. I thought it was going to be a typical slow burn with some emphasis on developing the relationships naturally, but nope, instalust all the way, creating shallow and exasperating scenes.

The beast (Ruby's other side, ugh) was a stupid and irritating decision on the author's part. I hate split personalities when they're actually just one person... Again, I don't understand this. I was sick of it in the brief moments in the first book, and I was done with it in this one.

The style of writing is soooooo dramatic and amateurish, as well. The dialogue was choppy, unrealistic, and forced, as if the author struggles to write in a natural voice. Maybe later works will mature and evolve, but the author has some practicing to do.

Would I recommend this? Nope. Check out my RH tag on my profile and you'll see some great RH books.
Would I re-read this book? Hell no. Once was enough. Whew.
Was I entertained? No. I skimmed every bit of this.

Happy reading, Goodreads fiends.
