System Collapse is my least favorite installment of the Murderbot Diaries thus far. It wasn't bad by any means, i just never really connected with the characters or plot the way I usually do. Perhaps the formula is getting a bit tired and needs a shake-up, or perhaps the character and relationship development is suffering as Murderbot's cast of friends and allies keeps growing. 

While Art and the University humans are fine, I find myself missing the relationships between MB and it's preservation humans. Especially after the last two installments which gave us a lot of good content between MB and Mensah and developed a fun new friendship with Mensah's daughter Anena, I found myself struggling to get invested in the crew from University.

I do enjoy the introduction of some new SecUnit characters and I would very much love to see MB become a firebrand for the SecUnit revolution! Something to (hopefully) look forward to in the next installment.

3.5 stars
Despite ART being here (which i LOVE), i just wasn't that interested in this story and it felt like it didn't need to be as long as it was. This would have served better as another short story.
I still enjoyed it of course, but I think it was one of Wells' weakest one in the series so far.
