Excellent book! I only have 3 thoughts.
#1 I know America is a dangerous place but the hits never really stopped coming there was no down time and I would have like to see Baz and Simon with some time to spare mostly to talk. The only time they really had to do that was in the back of the truck and it was too windy.

#2 Penelope never learned her lesson to value other people's opinions. It was a whole book with no character development which is fine for Baz and Simon as there is a much bigger reason behind it that might take another book to sort out but Penny really should have grown up here. Will she ever develop as a person? Or is she going to be stuck in high school forever, wardrobe colours and all?

#3 Penny is a very organized person I do not believe that she never plotted out their itinerary on a map first. I know she's from England and it's very small but she plans too much to make a mistake like she did. It's unbelievable.

THIS is what I wanted Carry On to be. Big and silly, dumb and fun, not too serious, but all heart. And hella gay.

Whoever said this was disappointing didn't read the same book.

I’m rereading all the books I own, and this one made me feel Emotions. I actually laughed out loud a couple of times which I don’t usually do while reading. It’s so fun and exploring how the kooky world of magic Rowell introduced us to in Carry On interacts with the wild west of the US was something I deeply enjoyed. I got such a kick out of this book!

A nice look at what comes next, with some good character development for Penelope, but not really for Simon or Baz. Also, vampires!

Like Carry On this was very easy to read. Kinda sad throughout all of it and I’m disappointed that there was no resolution to the Baz/Simon conflict. I’m glad Agatha stopped being such a sourpuss in the end. The whole Lamb thing feels weird, like I get it but it feels like it didn’t come to a satisfying conclusion. Shephard is cool, love him, welcome to the family. Wish there were more consequences for the battle sequences, rather than just “ah i have 6 bullet wounds but lez just magic it away ez”. Never a bore to read though. I do love the characters and am very attached to all of them (except Agatha lol).

A great follow up to Carry On. I was getting close to the end of the book and worried it would end on a cliffhanger without resolving the story.

It did resolve the story but still ended on a cliffhanger. Onto book 3...
