This is really a 3.5 star book for me; because this is supposed to be realistic fiction, it was hard to suspend disbelief that there are 16 clones of Dr. Grief that have had enough plastic surgery to look just like 16 other boys. Sure, Grief claims that they don't look perfect and the parents wouldn't notice because they won't have seen them in like 8 months during puberty, which is fair. Except that the one that looks like Alex's friend is good enough to trick him and the one that looks like Alex is good enough to trick his au pair, so...

Also Alex's initial move of taking a barge out of the water using a crane was a little ridiculous and essentially for no reason...

Even so, it's supposed to be essentially a James Bond as a kid novel, and that is what this is, so overall very enjoyable.

The adventure continues for Alex when he's sent to a strange school for wayward boys to figure out what's going on behind the scenes. A little creepy and full of crazy action and a bit predictable, but still a fun read.
