The romance is cute, it's very sweet and has a lovely shoujo quality to it. I also like what the story did with Aira. We love girls supporting girls yes women.

It's just...
I am so done with every man we meet being 'suprisingly young' and 'handsome'. WHERE ARE THE OLD MEN IN THIS WORLD???

Elizabeth best girl though.

This one is still as lighthearted as the first book, though now we're getting properly into the whole "Who is the saint?" thing. There were times when Sei's apparent obliviousness (over her status as said saint and of certain romantic moments) were a bit annoying, though some of it was her being willfully blind on purpose (and if there's a reason, I hope it gets explored at some point). I like how the conflict between Sei and the other Saint + the prince was settled; although the other girl was pretty bland as a character, I could kind of understand her motivation for going along with the prince's whims, even if I thought she was also wimpy for never asserting herself in the slightest. This volume also has more action in it, what with Sei finally being able to use her saint powers, even if she is barely able to understand the how or why. It's great seeing such a powerful character still struggle to do things~

I'm not entirely familiar with the genre, so I could be wrong, but this series has been the closest equivalent to cozy fantasy for me. It's generally a relaxing read with relatively low stakes - the kind of stories you would enjoy if you just want to 'turn off your brain' and just have fun, so to speak. So far, it seems like the anime has been a VERY faithful adaptation, with the LNs providing some much-needed background. Will definitely continue!
