This book fails tremendously at a likable heroine. I’m familiar with mafia romances, with the various tropes you regular see in these types of books. This book is boring. The heroine is annoying with internalized  misogyny and not in the typical mafia sort of way. Most notably the dialogue between characters. The internal monologue of the MC is annoying. In order to read this book, you have to suspend every sort of reasonable belief that one could have. And that doesn’t even account for the complete lack of connection between these characters. It’s just not good. This is probably a level 3 of 5 in spiciness. The scenes feel out of place.

Audiobook: Stephanie Rose is an awful narrator for this type of story. Jacob Morgan is wonderful as usual, but his lines are extremely limited.

I would not read this book and I feel like I wasted a credit.
