Another fun, magic-filled adventure in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles series. In addition to the standard human characters, this one features some prominent animals, including a 6 foot tall, blue, flying donkey and a whole slew of cats. This book is indeed a tribute to the crazy cat ladies of the world!

What does the Queen of the Enchanted Forest, a witch, a magician, a blue flying donkey-rabbit, and a couple of cats have in common? They're all tracking down a magic sword to save the King of the Enchanted Forest. A good third book, though, even if Killer annoyed me. But I still love this series :)

Seems to kill the magic and best parts of what I loved about the 1&2 in the series

This is the first book that focuses more on the witch Morwyn and her many cats. She can hear what they say, but not everyone is so lucky. Telemain helps to navigate some magical trouble, but again, only Morwyn can understand his hyperlexic and increasingly jargon filled technical explanations.

I feel seen. This is what it is like when you organise your world inside your head with large technical terms, that you need for looking specifically at technical things.. and then you have to translate back to simple terms to try and get the gist to others... but it doesn't feel right to approximate. I struggle along with the magician as he attempts to reword what he is describing.. er... talking about.. to explain things to people who haven't ever had the need for the words that he uses, and so don't understand his unfiltered technobabble.. or.. thaumobabble? I digress.

A party of adventurers (feline, human, draconic, leporine??!) quest to find a stolen artifact and battle one of the most fiendish antagonists yet: pedantry! - well... a pedantic wizard. An ill-fated white rabbit, keeps making the wrong decisions about food. (It is hinted that he is descended from Alice's White Rabbit with a pocket watch, so it is no surprise that eating magical things leads him to changing size and shape due to unpredictable "synergistic effects!"). A cast of kitties help Morwyn go places she can't, discover secrets, and channel magical effects. Keep your eye out for Rapunzel's brother who has the real story about what went down in that tower.

I think we have had enough hints to know that possibly Sorceresses will feature in the next book.
Silly romp. Lots of fun, and a good family read.

It was fun to get more of the cats' perspective in this story. Each book has a different lead character it seems, which is cool. The first one was Cimorene, the second was Mendenbar, and this one was from Morwen. When a rabbit grows quite large, and wizards are suspected once again for breaking into the Enchanted Forest, Morwen and friends go to the King & Queen to make sure all is well. A group goes in search for the enchanted sword and Kazul, the king of the Dragons goes back to the Enchanted forest to see how things in the kingdom are going. I think this was my least favorite of the three first books of the series. It was funny and I loved the character development, but I don't think I really got into the story until the last 60 pages. I like how it ended! very cool. Now to read the last one!

This whole series is fun and silly but this one goes just enough more off the rails and while that is not necessarily a bad thing idk if it's doing the book any favors either

2.5 stars. The humor was well done, but it came at the expense of flow, which was slow. It picked up a bit towards the end, fortunately.
