I feel that this particular short story collection was more cohesive than other ones I've read in years past. Each story has a strong semi plot despite the small page portions. I feel like I definitely was a part of the storytelling and immersed in the plots the further I read. I can't exactly pinpoint a favorite but if you are looking for an exemplary exploration of what it means to be Haitian and the lives of Haitian citizens, this is one I highly recommend.

These were all really great short stories filled with the harsh truth of life of immigration from Haiti to the United States. I think my favourites were Sunrise, Sunset and Seven Stories.

Overall I enjoyed it. Some stories hit more than others. The best ones for me were the shorter ones though Sunrise, Sunset was on the longer side and was one of my favorites.
