The book starts out a bit slow and confusing, what with all the terminology that gets thrown at you. Once you get the hang of it though, the story really picks up. Past the halfway point I had a very hard time putting the book down. Found music that really worked with the ambience of the book and that helped amplify the experience a lot on top of the books base enjoyability. The ending will stick in my head for a while for sure and I will definitely be picking up the next two books in this series.

Keep getting bogged down in unexplained terminology and there isn’t enough plot to carry it along. We’ll try again at another time.

The convoluted writing lost me at some point, and then I never got back. Maybe I’m just stupid but found it too hard, then grating, to follow. Wanted to like it but just felt frustrated.

After reading the first hundred pages, I still have no clue what is going on in this book. The author makes no effort to explain new items, concepts, or places in this world. I am not going to pause and look up what something is 5-10 times per page.

Neuromancer is one of the best books I have read in a while, it was weird, bizarre and went in direction I never expected. Sometimes it’s hard to follow, and hard to understand what’s happening but that’s what I love about it (which is probably why some people don’t like it as much as I did, which is understandable). Neuromancer had everything I wanted out a novel amazing and original worldbuilding, thrilling plot and interesting characters. This novel grows on you, so if you read the first 50 pages and think it’s okay(which is what I thought) or didn’t like it, you haven’t seen anything yet! I would love to go into more details but I don’t want to spoiler it for anyone. I recommend Neuromancer to anyone who likes sci-fi or just wants to read it, it’s wild and I hope you like it.
