An eminently readable translation of a rich and twisty story from Simon Armitage made even better when read out loud or listened to, as his introduction suggests. I immediately feel the need to go and read more Arthurian lit now

Holds up pretty well for a 14th-century poem. And the alliteration is truly mindblowing. It was nice to have the context and notes provided by the Norton Critical Edition.
