Calling this a psychological thriller is a stretch tbh. It might be disturbing but it's not smart or thrilling enough to fit the genre.

I’ve been thinking about what to write in this review for almost two days and I still haven’t come up with much. I have zero complaints. I was hooked from the start and finished it in a few hours. I COULD NOT STOP. In my mind, Verity Crawford is Gillian Flynn and Colleen Hoover skillfully inceptioned her ass. (If you have read this book, read Gone Girl, and seen Inception, that description will make perfect sense.) As I was reading the autobiography within the story, I kept thinking this was another Gone Girl copycat. Boy was I WRONG. I was horrifically and delightedly surprised. I’m not sure if Hoover is always this brilliant but I’m ready to read more of her.
