The Impossible Wizard by James E. Wisher

I struggled with this one from the start - I didn't entirely realize that it was YA (not my cup of tea right now) and it sounded fun. However, while the worldbuilding is intriguing, the characters fell flat. The main character feels too perfect, everything comes too easily. I see the series goes on for multiple books so I'm wondering if it gets better but I don't feel like pushing through.

I like this book, but I'm 50/50 on reading more. I like story etc, I just don't like urban fantasy that switches so much between POV. i don't mind if it's critical information, but It seems to just tell the same story from different POV and I end up getting bored. I hope next book has less switch otherwise I might drop the series.

I'm curious about this world, and I want to read more. The writing was decent, but I expected more of Conryu's perspective. Ah well. I will probably read book two when I get some money. 3.5 stars.

It's a bit of a Harry Potter clone, but I enjoyed it.

A beginning with a bang, and many cliffhangers at the end, albeit this story arc has been semi-resolved.

Recommended.
