I didn't really know what expect going into this book but I ended up really liking it! The beginning was a little slow for me but our girl, Ellea, is a firecracker and I like her! I was a little suspicious of Ros at first but through the second half of the book, I was in love with him too haha! There were a few twists and turns that I didn't expect and I was a little surprised about the twist at the end! I liked that the author incorporated all kinds of magical beings into this book and that in the next book, we will get a deeper look into both of their pasts as well as a new "world" so to speak! Very excited to read the next book, Tricky Princess!

I really enjoyed this!! I picked up this book at my local indie store, in the "local authors" section! I fell in love with our cast of characters, and the magic system.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars, is the spice imbalance. The last 15-20% is a spicy scene in what feels like every chapter. Not to say it's not good.... Wait till you get to the tree scene 🥵🥵🥵 but, like I said for me personally it felt off kilter.

Love the cliff hanger, and can't wait to dive in Tricky Princess!!

There wasn't enough relationship development for what I expected and wanted out of this book and a lot more lust and smut (which wasn't that good actually)

*Revised Edition Review* Holy shadow play Batman! So I’ve legit had Tricky Magic chillin on my kindle for *months* but never got around to reading it for some reason and now I’m so glad I waiting because I could now read the updated version before book 2 drops next month!

This book has the perfect balance of plot and spice, and the chemistry between Ros and Ellea was fantastic!

Tricky Magic is serving all the things I love: a fun cast of characters, a unique Magic system, supernatural elements galore, a swoon worthy and possessive MC, and a complex heroine!

Did I read this in one sitting.... You bet your sweet ass I did. To say I was entranced is an understatement. I loved everything about this. From the spice from the first chapter to the entanglement with a certain hunk of a man. Ellea is a powerful witch who does not know her own strength and is trying to explore it. When life and magic seems to be creating stress and uneasiness, she relocates to a cabin of her family's. It is there that she begins to grow and understand that there is more to the world she knows than meets the eye.

L.L writes so beautifully that it is as if you are there standing in the woods. The details of the story is what grabs the attention and is where you wish you could be transported. I need more after reading this. And the spice is chefs kiss, let me tell you. Ellea is a lucky witch!!
