Hit me right on the gut. Lately I've felt that if it's not in my calendar is not happening. And sometimes I can't shake the feeling that I'm forgetting something. What if...? This book hits home with trying to keep it all sorted and taking it to the worst level.
Really cool, lots of twists...kept me guessing!!

This book has a great storyline and so much potential. But some of the character building is unnecessary and does not benefit the plot at all. There are comments made that feel like the author just needed a space to make the jabs everyone says in their head be heard. Again, great plot with lots of potential. I suggest you give it a try. You may like it.

Literally the only good thing about this book, is the promoting of adopting animals from shelters instead of buying them from breeders. The author did a great job of telling the plight of shelter workers.
The "thriller" part of this book is nonexistent and so much of this book could have been culled, did we really need to be told countless times that Joanne wanted a breast reduction?

Okay, so I'm waiting on a few books on hold, and this was an in between shot in the dark kind of book for me. The title felt iffy (but now it's not) and it was unclear how good it might be. Well, I am incredibly impressed. I hate that we keep selling books as "Gone Girl"- esque any time it's about people who are far different than they seem, as if Flynn is the first to do this. This book was better than "Gone Girl" in a lot of ways, it provides interesting POV from Lisa and Joanna, and the Perp all a little unexpected, and the turns it took were just right. This needs to be a must read for those who love a good thriller mystery, I just ate this one up.
This book had so many crazy twists. Just when you are done processing one twist, another whammy hits you. I'm not necessarily sure this was a good thing as it almost made the story unrealistic, but a lot of drama and it will keep you on your toes, none the less.
I swear I already wrote a review about this but I might be losing my mind. At any rate, I enjoy this book because I really liked the main character, Lisa and her husband. They were realistic and easy to like characters. With that being said I was 1) surprised by the end though I certainly caught onto the hints once they presented themselves 2) so annoyed by all the red herrings in this book - ah! I thought for sure Joe's obsession with hot peppers was important to the story the way it was presented.
This book was recommended to "those who loved the twist ending to Gone Girl." This book was neither on par with the story, writing, or twist of Gone Girl, so I was pretty disappointed.
