An amazing book that I am so glad to have read. This is a book I would watch if there was a movie.
Aminata was amazing and so many horrible things happened to her and she survived. She is a very inspirational person and I am sorry to have not found out what ever happened to her son. I enjoyed the relationship she had with May. Though Chekura was a very unique person in all he suffered through and for some poor choices in his youth.

It was very interesting to hear how she ended up in England and Africa again too. And hearing about the start of the abolitionists and how they started the movement is interesting. It was terrible how the Witherspoons were very much the white savior type.
