I saw this book as a giveaway on the Goodreads site and, though I didn't win, I found and read this book anyway. It was a fairly good start to a new series. A little rocky as any world building book would be and I'm hoping that Avery will find some more of her own agency on subsequent books but three and a half stars.
Avery is just your average army brat. Except that her mom is actually a contractor who moves around. As a junior, Avery is used to the moves. She's just tired of them. Which is why she disobeys her mother and goes to prom, so she can have one normal night-- with the cute boy, Jack, who's also new in town. But she gets swept up into the mystery of her past, of who her father is and how she's connected to the twelve families that run the world. Is she a part of the mandate (a prophecy)?

Solving clues? Adventure? Secret societies? Sign me up! I had a lot of fun with this book! Even though the main character wasn’t the brightest light, I still really enjoyed this journey. The overall storyline was a bit confusing at times but it didn’t stand in the way from following along. The writing style was very easy to get in to; and even though there is a love triangle, I feel like the author made it quite obvious in wording with whom the main character will end up. We’ve only touched the top of the mountain with this first book and it’s clear there is much more to come.

3.75⭐ While this book might not be the most realistic or technically hole proof, it was so fun, hence the rating round up! I found myself not wanting to stop listening to the audiobook and instantly pulled into the "national treasure" vibes. Continuing on with the series:)
One thing I don't think we get enough of in YA is international secret organization mysteries. The Conspiracy of Us is one of those books that does it pretty well, with a surprising plot at times and a good setup for the future volumes.
What starts as a more typical story a la Gallagher Girls quickly becomes a situation of Illuminati-style prophecy and continent surfing as the mystery slowly begins to unravel. In that there are few books quite like this one is one thing, but the questions throughout are what ultimately kept me hooked and looking forward to the next volume. Great for folks looking for a little more conspiracy theorizing in their diet.

DNFing this one. The premise was so promising, but the execution was not good. More thoughts on the blog tomorrow.
Should’ve DNF’d but I was holding out for conclusion to tie it up. The ending does give you a little twist, literally on the last page, but it’s not a big plot twist.

2. Drsní chlapi, ktorí pri sebe majú najmenej jednu zbraň a neboja sa ju použiť
3. Pretože hlavná hrdinka má rozum a nebojí sa ho použiť k vylúšteniu záhad
4. Sú tam záhady, ktoré treba rozlúštiť a hľadanie stôp (Sherlock Holmes vo vás bude nadšený)
5. Akčné scény a kopu naháňačiek.
6. Pretože si nemôžete byť istí, kto je zlý a kto je dobrý. Všetci totiž nosia masky a majú tajné motívy.
Takže ak ste ešte o nej nevedeli, myslím, že by ste si ju mali zohnať. Mňa zhltla od samého začiatku a vypľula ma neschopnú jediného slova len nezrozumiteľných zvukov a posunkov. Pre mňa geniálna a potrebujem pokračovanie. Hneď. Teraz.

Tá kniha bola ešte lepšia ako prvýkrát. Pred rokom to bolo zbesilé čítanie, pretože som sa naplno ponorila do deja ako pri potápaní a bádala som po tajomstvách. Teraz som si knihu vychutnávala pomaly ako ten najlepší dezert. Vnímala som detaily. Analyzovala som postavy. Zoznámila som sa s nimi po druhýkrát a ešte viac ma očarili, ukázali mi ešte viac zo svojho vnútra a ja sa neviem dočkať na dvojku!

I enjoyed this book as it was an interesting and quick read. I thought the characters and their interactions seemed genuine given the extraordinary premise of the book. I am looking forward to starting the second book.
