Fast paced, interesting, logical problem solving, tolerable female mc. An actual love triangle I don't mind.

Maybe this book just isn't re-readable for me but I skimmed through the half of the book. The characters aren't as alive is a remembered either. Overall just not a very enjoyable re-read. It felt like a chore; something I HAD to do because I wanted to read the second. Now I'm not even sure if I do want to continue

3.5 decent most of the time but there were a number of times when I just found the main characters actions and reactions unbelievable. Broke the spell too often to rate it any higher even though I sped through it quickly.
This book is pretty much a YA version of The Da Vinci Code with more angst. It wasn't an awful read, but it was slow to start. Also, I found it annoying how long the characters seemed to go without sleeping.
Okay this actually was really good. It's seriously a page turner. It reminded me of the Da Vinci code. That's definitely the only book that's made me finish it in a night for the same reason. It's complete curiosity for the explanation behind all the intrigue. I thought it was very cool. It's not quite 4 stars but like almost. Maybe like 3.8.
As soon as I realized there was a love triangle I was a little like ehhhhh but I was curious so I kept reading and really, the plot was good. I like Jack but I think she's gonna end up with Stellan in the end. They sound very soul-matey true love archetype. I do love Jack but man, they're both like I love you after knowing each other for two days. It's really funny and such a YA thing. But despite all the cliches I really did enjoy this. I'll be reading the next book soon.

This is one of those books where I can't figure out why I kept on reading. It was sinfully boring and uninteresting. The main character was pretty bland. I couldn't really find it in me to care about her or about the mystery surrounding her. This book should have been a lot more fun to read. It should have been non stop exhilaration with a lot of globe-trotting. I would have been interested if it were those things.
I can't stand romance or books where female characters constantly need rescuing, but this one sucked me in. I liked all of the action and the treasure hunting aspects of the book. It was kind of like if Bourne Identity and National Treasure had a teen girl baby. It's a totally guilty pleasure, but I can't wait for book two...
Okay, this book took me a moment to get into, I won't lie about that. The narration seemed eager, the accents, less than genuine, and the story a bit out there. However by about the 30 minute mark I was hooked. I don't know what changed, I don't know what did it for me, but all of a sudden I needed to know what happened next. I was falling for these characters before I knew them; I was getting to tumble about in this mystery of Alexander the great that even Robert Langdon couldn't unravel. More or most importantly, I was invested in what happened next. For about a day and a half this was all I could listen too or think about, and before book one was over I'd pre-ordered book two. I needed more that fast!
