Good, but hardly a finished book. I understand the fad of publishing everything as a trilogy, but there's no climax or resolution here, so it has no plot in the purely technical sense. It's just a very long introduction to the plot which we need to wait for in the next book.

I thought that I would really like this - the premise is interesting enough - but I couldn't connect to the characters & unfortunately the world isn't nearly believable enough for me.

4 Stars
I love it because I hate it. All the one star ratings are totally fair, but I love how trashy it is. It is like Vampire Diaries but high society and British, Russian and French people.
Avery is also the dumbest character to ever exist. Like actually, wow

Fun first book in a new YA series. Definitely has a National Treasure/Da Vinci Code feel as main character Avery goes exploring in Paris and Istanbul to uncover a millennial old conspiracy featuring some Illuminati-like families. I'm interested to see where this series goes.
