So many cliches!
honestly Avery was just annoying and the hole book the boys were just sex objects. the story could have been great if it had been playing a bigger role. Like this it was flat, but still good to read (light lecture)

OMG so glad she ended up with Jack because Stellan just pisses me off, but now he's the one and they have to be married?!?! I don't care if theses people rule the world, Jack and Avery should be together. Them together in that hotel room was goals. It was so intimate and cute. It will break my heart if she actually marries Stellan and has to part ways with Jack for good. So excited for book 2.
Avery has moved more times for her mom's job than she count. She's learned to never let herself get too close to friends or boys, but when Jack shows up to her school she finds him difficult to resist. To Avery's surprise, Jack isn't who he seems. Through Jack she meets Stellan and suddenly she's whisked away to Paris on a private jet. When she faces down kidnappers, murders, and a mafia-like family intrigue.
This book is action packed and down right fun! This is the sort of book that is perfect for vacation or as a palate cleanser. I can't wait for book #2.

oh hell, the ending didn't solve anything! I don't want to have to read the next one for answers!

I really wanted to like this book more than I did. I am a huge fan of mystery, conspiracy, and romance (probably in that order), and this book promised all three. I think it definitely delivered, and yet I just couldn't get super excited about it.
I liked the characters, but I felt as though I didn't have enough time to get to know Avery in order to really root for her before she took off to Paris with a stranger. I know it's fiction, and I know how much Avery wanted to meet her family, but I couldn't help thinking, girl, he just pulled a knife on you! It was moments like these that made me question Avery's judgement.
I will say that I really appreciated the travel aspect of this book. Paris and Istanbul sound incredible and I loved the historical details the author weaves into the story along the way. The Circle's ties to Alexander the Great were particularly interesting.
And whatever Avery was lacking, Jack totally made up for it. I have a huge crush on Jack (maybe it's his adorable British accent). The romance was adorable, and while there was insta-attraction, there was no insta-love. (Thank you thank you, Maggie Hall!)
The plot moved pretty quickly. I'll most likely read Book 2. I liked this book, I just didn't love it.

Avery West's newfound family can shut down Prada when they want to shop in peace, and can just as easily order a bombing when they want to start a war. Part of a powerful and dangerous secret society called the Circle, they believe Avery is the key to an ancient prophecy. Some want to use her as a pawn. Some want her dead.
To unravel the mystery putting her life in danger, Avery must follow a trail of clues from the monuments of Paris to the back alleys of Istanbul with two boys who work for the Circle—beautiful, volatile Stellan and mysterious, magnetic Jack. But as the clues expose a stunning conspiracy that might plunge the world into World War 3, she discovers that both boys are hiding secrets of their own. Now she will have to choose not only between freedom and family--but between the boy who might help her save the world, and the one she's falling in love with.
I came across THE CONSPIRACY OF US while I was at library, looking for some more books to read. Then the book caught my attention, mostly the title and I was hooked from that moment. I found myself asking why conspiracy? What is that girl in photograph thinking? I could tell by looking at the cover that something big is going to happen, that there is some sort of suspense that is going take place in story. Once I read the summay I was hooked even more to the story, how could I not be? A book that involves mystery, suspense, fantasy, forbidden romance, everything that I love about book. THE CONSPIRACY OF US a story that will have your attention till end of the book and afterwards will have you craving for more. After that ending you will wish that the next book was out. There wasn’t a single page where there wasn’t anything going on, always something happening from the first page till the last.
I could see connection between Avery and Jack right away, even before Avery found out what was going on. There seemed to always be some sort of attraction between two of them, and he was pretty much risking his life, his career in order to help Avery. By then I already knew that what Jack felt for her were more than friendship feelings. On multiple occasions when it was just the two of them, there was tension between the two of them. I knew that it must been tough on the two of them considering that the relationship between two of them was forbidden. However in the end, they couldn’t find they feelings any longer. I did wonder when the two of them would finally give in. Even though I knew that there most likely be consequences but I was happy that two of them acted on their feelings. Of course now, especially after the ending I am curious to see what happens with them next. Now Stellan, I feel that there might be something between him and Avery, maybe not same like with her and Jack but there is something there, even if neither of them want to admit it.
What I loved about THE CONSPIRACY OF US is there was always some sort of suspense and mystery surrounding the story. Each page, each chapter has you eager to see what’s going to happen with everyone next. Especially Ava. You can’t help but love Avery, but there are also times where you can’t help but feel sorry for her. I can’t even begin to imagine having go through what she went through. Find out that you have this whole other family, then also get hunted and almost killed on multiple occasions? That girl just can’t seem to catch a break. Hopefully things start looking up for her soon. I can tell that MAGGIE HALL is going be one author whose books I am going look forward to. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series, and honestly I am not sure how long I can wait.
A beautiful, astonishing debut.

This was a little too teenagery for my liking. I like the conspiracy theory and hunting aspects of the plot, but then it was marred by too much annoying. The main character Avery isn't horrible, she just is a beat behind everyone else. I think I would read the others n the series, but wouldn't.rush.
I chose this by accident and did not realize it was YA until it was mentioned that the main character was a 16 year old high school girl. I was not sure, but gave it a chance.
Although contrite in the overall plot, not much depth, it was still really fun and the voices (audio book) were sooo goood! I definitely enjoyed this and want to get the next one....there's a next one right?!

Cons:
- Da Vinci Code for teens: someone found "babby's first numerology book."
- Feels like an author self-inserting, and fantasizing about far off places with boys in tight/no clothes.
Pros:
- no love triangles!
- action and adventure (as believable as your average bond film)
