A classic for a reason. A creation furious at its creator for being abandoned. Big "I didn't ask to be born" energy. Love it. So many allegories and applicable comparisons. Definitely interested in rereading someday.

Glad I finally read this Gothic classic. I had a wonderful time dissecting and annotating this one (side note: I have found classics to be more enjoyable and understandable when I take the time to annotate, slowly appreciating the work I'm reading). Some parts dragged but mostly, I found it fascinating to feel so much sympathy for the monster who was benevolent and optimistic/curious for human connection (assuming his recollection is true) has come to be full of hate and revenge, thus leading to the commitment of unforgivable acts. Enjoyed taking in the prominent themes that entail Gothic novels.
