After RW&RB, I had big hopes for this one…But around halfway through I was feeling sunk cost fallacy full on. I was intrigued by the sci fi/fabulism aspects, but it fell a bit flat for me. I liked Jane so much until she started using past girlfriends as an excuse to kiss August. I wish it had either fully committed to the literary fabulism or gone by the way of the found family. The residents of the 6th floor were the best part of the story and really saved it for me. It was okay, but I had to push through. I’m still excited for Shara Wheeler later this year!
