I was really enjoying this, especially the way the author picked to write Leon's POV! And then came
Justin's proposal
, and Leon's reaction felt inappropriate, out of character, and in general, angered me. i read the rest of the book in a haze trying to piece together why that reaction was justified, especially once you realize that Tiffy and Leon don't know each other particularly well but still have this ~romantic pull~. I was going to look past it, but again, the
proposal
took me out and upset me enough to bump it down - not unreadable, but an unpleasant twist.

To start with, Leon and Tiffy are cute. Their personalities, their interactions, et cetera, are CUTE. The other characters are bearable and some of them are actually likeable, even.

But, I feel like a lot of elements in the book were forced, from the moment why they shared flats, the subplots, and how the subplots connected to each others. Like some of them were there to add words on the book. Leon's parts were rather hard to get through (I get used to it after a while tho) and there's no point of it being written that way, like it didn't do anything to Leon's personality whatsoever, which is such a shame because I really liked the author's writing in general. On top of that, the climax(es?) were so underwhelming and a bit awkward, and it was the biggest letdown for me.

However I also can see why people love this book. It was still a light, cute read with explorations on serious topics (tho some didn't fit into the story well in my opinion), and it wrapped kind of nicely in the end.

Cute read! While I love Tiffy and Leon, I feel like Richie stole the show. Ms. O’Leary I want to officially request a Richie novel please.

I really enjoyed the slow-burn of this book! The note passing, the separate character growth, the fun side characters. It was really cozy and enjoyable!!!! I found the gaslighting ex to be stressful as a reader, but otherwise really really loved the slow pacing and and build of this relationship. I want to be friends with everyone in this book!

I have to say I actually didn’t like the first half of the book due to the slow pace of progress and the very unique writing of Leon’s perspective… apart from that I loved the second half of the book when the plot went on faster and you could see Tiffy and Leon interact and fall in love more and more♡♡♡ I also really like Tiffy’s personal mental progress regarding her past toxic relationship and the way you could see her transform and find back to herself ♡
