My boss at the bookstore keeps making me read these ridiculously good children's books (really, the nerve of her!). The Bear Who Wasn't There is funny, the art is great, and the story covers the ENTIRE book (no seriously, you'll want to check under the dustjacket and on the back of the book). All the fun, no matter your age.
