Let me preface this by stating I was around for the Harry Potter zeitgeist, albeit near the end, so I saw and understand the cultural impact that these books had. I also want to point out that I despise Moldemort (the author in case you can't figure it out), and unlike most people, I actually associate these books with a traumatic period of my childhood. I thought maybe if I read through them then it might help, but honestly now, I can't be asked.
Out of three (and a half of book six. Long story) that I could be bothered to read this one was the best. I liked Lupin, the plot was more interesting but I just don't wanna bother anymore. I'm just for my man Neville Longbottom.

I love the harry potter books because the storyline in the books is so much better than in the movies. I also really love sirius, remus and hagrid. Even more after i finished the book

Every time I read it I feel my excitement growing as I approach the showdown in the Shrieking Shack. Ch17-19 (Cat, Rat & Dog, MWPP and The Servant of Lord Voldemort) is, without a doubt, my all-time favourite section of HP canon.
It just saddens me slightly that never again will I experience the sense of awe and wonder of the first read, when the whole Marauder revelation was new and glorious. I try to recapture it with each re-read, but it’s not always easy.
[P.S. The reason for the week’s delay in finishing CoS and starting PoA is because I got lost wallowing in all the delicious S/R fanfiction in my LJ memories whoops #puppyshipper4lyfe]
