It‘s been many many years since I read the Harry Potter books. Rereading them all in 2024. And will read it from the illustrated versions (at least up until the 5th book, bc the 6th and 7th do not have an illustrated version yet)

Although I watch the movies at least once a year and I know they changed quite a few things from the books, it makes me realize that the movies are missing so many explanations to certain things.

A few thoughts from this one:

- I forgot all the details about the back story of the marauders. And I really enjoyed reading it.
- Snape is a lot more cruel to 13 year old kids in the books than he is in the movies.
- Enjoyed the last chapter a lot more than the movie ending
- This one is so far my favorite of the illustrated versions

i love how there are hints to what will happen at the end of the story but the ending is always crazier than the reader expects. i love the characters so much and this world. i honestly forgot a lot of details and some were left out of the movie so it is fun to get even more. the book is able to bring you into the world unlike the movies are. it felt truly magical reading this book.

Harry has trauma issues and gets made fun of for it. A serial killer wants to kill him, oh wait never mind. He saves a bird, dog. And Snape is a bad guy.
