It's incredible how these comics still feel fresh after almost 30 years. Marvel and DC could learn so much and should have by now. Until then I will be in Astro City

Astro City is an interesting and different look at Super Heroes. I think it’s the anthology format that makes it shine. You get a chunk of it and your brain can fill in the gaps.
Great new edition, love the omnibus style

I really appreciated how Astro City takes well-known superhero conventions and shakes them up a bit, providing an excellent platform for examining some of humanity's great questions.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read Astro City, and it holds up well on a re-read. Not just a story of the heroes, but also of the “regular” folk in a city with super-heroes and super-villains. Part of its charm is discovering the backstories and history.

Kurt Busiek makes superhero stories feel fresh and new by approaching them from a different angle. The stories are usually told from the perspective of the non-powered, ordinary people who live in the cities that the costumed marvels protect or he approaches these super-powered beings as people first in his storytelling. It grounds the stories and makes them more related to us who weren't bitten by a radioactive insect or landed on Earth from some distant planet. His stories deliver entertainment and insight into the human condition.
