I really enjoyed this book! I love the way Hendrix combines horror and comedy. The main characters had an amazing depth to them. I felt like I grew up alongside them. Nothing became too predictable which I really appreciate
My only grievance is that he built something up between Abby and Gretchen. It kept feeling like it was going to go somewhere. I would have loved to see something come of it.
Besides that I found this a really fun read!

A cute and creepy book about 2 teenage girls and their love for one another overpowering even the most powerful of demons. I loved that the titles of each chapter were a 80’s song title. The characters were lovable even when they were being jerks. The story, while unbelievable, was fun and lighthearted and made me think of a campy 80’s horror film.

This is my second book by Hendrix, and it was just as all consuming as the first. As a male author, he does a great job writing female characters that are developed and interesting. His writting style always keeps me involved in what is happening. I spent my first three and a half hours after I woke up finishing this book without even noticing. And as a South Carolina native, I love seeing all the references to the social society of Charelston. This is a definite recommend.

This has all of the nastiness (and more) of The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. It has all the gross horror elements, but also (again, like the aforementioned book), the social commentary about the ignorance of adults (and 1980s society in general) is more horrifying. As other reviews have mentioned, it's incredibly frustrating to read about Abby's experiences being invalidated, but it works well.
