A really beautiful book. It took me a second to get into it fully but as you read it feels like a movie. It spans a lifetime. There are moments where everything changes and it feels like a smack in the face. It feels really honest about life, despite some of the craziest events. I like how Victoria looks at life and makes her peace as best she can so that she can move forward. It’s a really moving  and heartbreaking and lovely story.

Loved the sweeping nature of the novel but did not like the way the narrator voiced the male characters

Lovely book and beautiful writing. Probably one of my favorites from this year, though it is sad and slow at times. Reminded me of Where the Crawdads Sing.
