The story follows Persephone and her life in present times, the battles she faces and how her life becomes intertwined with Hades, God of the Underworld. Through the story you find how so many things are not what they seem. How fate plays a part in so much around them. Persephone learns how she is more powerful than she realizes, rather than letting people control her life, she must take it and make it her own.
There are lots of twists and turns, a few mysteries to uncover and a hot romance to see unfold. The story really makes you feel the real love and connection that Hades and Persephone have, and the challenges they face emotionally and physically.

Honestly I was a little hesitant to read this book at first. I think it was mainly because the story revolves around Olympian Gods. So I was unsure how the mythology was going to be portrayed. Having never read Scarletts’ work before, I didn’t know how she would write about it. Once I started reading I could not stop. Her writing is extremely well written. It flows so well and really captivates you. Sucks you in and throws you into another world you just never want to leave.
I found myself learning some things along the way with Persephone. Even keeping thoughts stuck in my head about how we are all powerful in our own way. How we make our lives and we cant let people choose for us. We always have a choice and even if we make the wrong one, we then learn from the mistake we have made. There is lots of spicy sex scenes, but they are written extremely well and nothing that leaves you going ‘yuck’. The scenes show a lot of fire and passion in their relationship as well as giving the reader a bit of lust for what they have.
It was an excellent read and one I would recommend to anyone who loves a good powerful love story, with Fantasy and Gods thrown in.

That was fun! I love a Hades x Persephone retelling! Persephone wasn’t my favorite but she never is. She always has communication issues no matter the retelling and it definitely makes sense but it never fails to irritate me. Excited to read the Hades POV book (ordered it this morning so I could start it tonight). Long chapters but quick read. It was super cheesy in some parts but I couldn’t stop reading and thoroughly enjoyed it. Could it use more world building? Yes. Is it cheesy? Yes. Couldn’t the spicy scenes be a little spicier? Yes. BUT it was good read. If you love Hades x Persephone retellings, pick it up!

Pretty good!! I liked Persephone a lot, and I think the supporting characters were great too. I like that it was more modern and an urban fantasy, and it had me hooked, I mean I finished the book in 24 hours lol

Greek mythology with a modern touch and of course the basic romantic cliches. I was interested because of the Hades& Persephone story, though she seemed childish and annoying.

This was marginally better than Neon Gods as it actually had some sort of storyline, but there was so much cringe.. wouldn't recommend it.
