Our heroine, Serra, is quite a character: a young (and snarky) shape-shifting mage with a dark past, who is just discovering the true extent of her powers, as she must face an ancient (and rather horrifying) evil being in the woods AND survive summer camp. And then there's this intriguing and mysterious young man...
A good read, with plenty of suspense, a touch of romance, and wild magic -- I'm looking forward to the sequel (and hoping to learn more about the other campers)!
