5/10 : The March pick for @reesesbookclub, I thought the premise of this book sounded great, & settled myself in to read. Home, a string of exclusive members only destinations across the globe, each one a project more extravagant than the last, is the brainchild of Ned Groom. The book follows various key characters: Adam, Neds adulterous brother & {unequal} business partner; Nikki, the efficient & discreet PA to Ned; Jess, the newly hired head of housekeeping for Homes newest venture; Annie, head of Neds gigantic team, his most trusted sidekick, in charge of the elusive guest-lists & more. Island Home is the newest, biggest project of Neds undertaking thus far, & the book is set on the weekend of the launch event. Attended only by handpicked A-List celebrity guests, whose every whim will be catered for, this luxurious party is about to become the scene of multiple deaths, the motives & circumstances of which are unveiled as the book goes on, along with a couple of big secrets. This book is pretty dark, detail focused & has a mind boggling host of characters alongside our main protagonists. I found it rather boring, if I’m honest, & felt the pace to be lacking for the vast majority of the book. Good premise, poor execution.

A solid mystery thriller in the spirit of Lucy Foley’s The Guest List.

The concept of these clubs called Home, filled with celebs and no phones, sounds like a perfect setting for a murder mystery to take place. However, I felt it did get a bit jumbled in the end and,
Spoileras with many mysteries, everything was just a bit too perfectly connected.

Pretty fun easy murder mystery. I can see this turning into a half-decent movie.

I picked this up 3 different times weeks apart and couldn’t get into it. Got to 40 percent read and gave up. (If I’ve made a terrible mistake let me know.)
