challenging dark mysterious medium-paced

I thought it was a fun concept, but wasn't really that immersed the Home, Island as being that awesome of a destination. I liked the dynamics of the scheming employees and the battling brothers, but had a hard timing keeping straight in my mind all of the bad-deeds-doing celebrity guests. Part of it might have been listening on audiobook, as they blurred together a bit.

It reminded me of another thriller set in a remote island with a "locked room" group of suspects there for a wedding when the murders started. That one was also some island off English with bogs and whatnot. All of this makes me rethink remote island, non-tropical, as my dream destination.

I was i between giving this one three and four stars, but the number of times I had “holy shit” moments made me bump it up to a 4. A lot of characters and plot lines to keep track of!
slow-paced

Just could not get into this book. It had a lot of characters and then would bounce to news stories too. I had to sticky note the characters  page to keep referring back. Not my favorite!

3.5** A little slow at first, but then it all came together and there were some interesting twists that tied all the storylines together.
fast-paced

What a thrilling book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the eclectic group of famous individuals that that writer created and was able to apply this fictional scenario to modern times. At the beginning of the move, I created a character list since there were so many vital characters, similar to “who done it?” A fabulous, engaging read that linked everything together at the very end.

There are a lot of characters to keep track of and so many of them are unlikable. There is also so much happening in the story. I would even say it is too much. I got about half way through the book by the time I decided I wasn’t a fan. By then I had invested so much time in it, I decided to just finish it.
