One of my favourite books of all time! I was looking for a book that might be in a similar genre as mine, She Named Me Wolf, and this is it. A boy struggling in the world and his imaginary friend caring and protecting him - but in this book, it's genius that it's told from the perspective of the imaginary friend. I found this book scary, funny, whimsical, heartbreaking, and I couldn't wait to keep reading and turning the pages. I couldn't help but think this would be an amazing movie with all of the technology today - bringing Budo and Max to life, as well as the other imaginary friends, was genius by Matthew Dicks. Highly recommend!!!
This book was wonderful! The concept was very creative and made for a great story. I loved Budo's character and the descriptions of other imaginary friends made this even better. I work in a school and will be picturing imaginary friends walking around with my students.
Thank you for a great read!
Thank you for a great read!
Very unique, interesting story and perspective. Unfortunately, one paragraph on one page ... full of strong language.
amo a budo con todo mi ser, odio a Max con todo mi ser, Max no era digno de tener a budo como amigo
Really interesting point of view. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
I was going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars, but this book had such an interesting perspective that made me think and I would recommend it to anyone. It is told from the perspective of a third grade Autistic boy's imaginary friend. It would be a great book club discussion book.

An interesting, lighthearted concept is used to tell this story that takes a darker turn.
