I loved the premise behind this book. Using an imaginary friend to tell a story was a great way to gain insight into the human characters of the story. Sure, I couldn't want to hear how Budo and Max's story would end but overall there seemed to many questions about believability. I know trying to make sense of a story where an imaginary friend is telling the story can be tough but there were parts that could've been explained clearly. Loved the idea of changing the perspective of the narrator.
Oh my word! This book is so sweet and happy and sad all at once!!! Will probably read it again!
Really liked the unique point of view that this story was told from. Reminded me a bit of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime... and also a little bit of the creepy aspect of Room... or Lolita..
Would recommend.

Loved that the story was told from the imaginary friends point of view. I found myself fascinated by the idea that these friends exist and what their lives would be like. Creative and entertaining!
Compulsively readable and incredibly moving. The ending made me cry, which doesn't happen very often.

I liked what Budo, the main character/imaginary friend, had to say about what it means to exist. The questions he asks are the most human ones we all ask about what happens to all we did after we cease to exist, and what it means to be "real." His voice was incredibly believable. And I liked what the story had to say about children who live and learn out of the norm.
I'm not sure what it was that made me want to read this book. The description is quite unlike anything I've ever read, and the entire time I was reading it I was quite confused. Was I really reading a story told by an imaginary friend about his interactions with other imaginary friends and his imaginer? I guess it was well written and all, and it had an element of suspense, but it really was an odd story. Probably not one that would be top of mind to recommend.
