the book was intersting, it was good to read about life on the land. but it sort of jumped around.
didn't like the way it finished.
right at the end there was a page about the rest of Jimmy life which i felt was a bit of an after-thought. it would of been nice to of had that included in the book.

A rare treat - an accurate recollection of time on the land before settlers made it into the desert. The brutality of the conditions and the difficulties of survival in a hostile landscape while still conveying (second hands, for these are recollections of Jimmy's recollections) the joy and vitality of youthful wonder in the everyday surroundings.

I wish there were more books like this, but more than that I wish these kinds of stories still existed in their own voice.
