it wasn't very good but for Christie that means it's still pretty good. also Poirot holding that pantomime was so freaking dramatic i love him

I've read this countless times. I'll read it countless times more. I love Agatha Christie. I love Hastings, Japp and Poirot. Oh, you little egg shaped headed Belgian and those grey cells of yours. <3 :)

The first case Hastings recorded- not really sure why it wasn’t the first story in the collection.

Probably my favourite story from Poirot’s Early Cases.

Enjoyable short story by Agatha Christie. I just want to applaud David Suchet's reading. Because the story is written from Hastings' point of view he does a perfect Hastings voice, then moves effortlessly into his familiar Poirot voice. Skill.
