This is very tense and exciting and flies by. A fun and dark read.

This third book in the series focuses on Kelly, brother to Joe and Carter, and Robbie who came to the pack by accident in Wolfsong. As much as I was interested in their romance because of the hints in the previous two books, this book did not work for me.

I'm just going to come right out and say it. I found this book extremly boring. As said I was interested in their romance and coming together. But that was skipped and Robbie and Kelly finding each other through the memory loss was not the same thing. I felt that I was missing a piece. It didn't help that we started with Robbie who remembered nothing of his pack and I wasn't sure if this was a history thing or a memory loss thing at first. Their romance towards each other was meh and I was not feeling the connection on the page.
I will also say that I feel it was a cop out to have him remember everything way at the end and not have him deal with the repurcusions of his own memories. He did that with the actual people it concerned, or rather they did with him. But actually having those memories back is a different thing and to me one of the most important things if you are going to give a character their memories back. It will still change things.

However I did appreciate how it was dealt with between Robbie, Rico, Chris and Tanner. Those three aren't just a hang on but an important part of the pack and they really got to shine in this book. As always I loved the pack dynamics. Even though it didn't quite work for me, there were still places that made me laugh out loud.

Okay, this might be my favorite Green Creek book yet. Maybe? I don't know, it's hard to pick a favorite. There were so many ups and downs in this book, it was a true emotional roller coaster. Kelly and Robbie are absolutely perfect for each other, and there were so many moments where my heart just broke for them.

Plus, the pacing for this book was spot on. I just couldn't put it down. I need everything to be okay in the end! I just need it!

(m/m, ace mc, werewolves). This book is excellently eerie.
When I started it the first time, I was convinced we’d gone back in the timeline.
Satisfying romantic ending. Excellent set up for the sequel. I love getting more of Chris and Tanner, and I love the pack getting gayer. I’m also pleased with the ace representation.
The kids are appropriately terrifying.
I adore the self-awareness (gayest pack ever, self sacrificing assholes, gratuitous nudity).
