4.5 star quality writing
2.5 star plot
Read as a gift to a friend
100 pgs longer than needed (it actually felt like the last 100pgs were an addition separate from the book)

I don’t normally read romance but how obvious it was from the beginning; the plot…. I don’t want to read romance.
At least it’s self-aware in the amount of coincidences…
We see it from her point of view. Everytime she’ll say his face flushed and he quickly turned away; he’s angry. *facepalm*
The language used in describing his actions and the conclusions she drew from it are so different.
Appreciated the technical POV we were given.
Made me like science even more.
HOWEVER, not everything about her has to be tied to a romantic aspect.
I’m glad the miscommunication trope wasn’t ridiculous.

[Edit:] 3.25 to 3.75
I can’t stop thinking about the characters ( they’re really well fleshed out ) and their romance.

I was convinced I would be a hater. I read 2 of Ali Hazelwood’s novellas and didn’t really like them, thought they were cringey and the whole “I’m so tiny” and “ur so big 😦” and so much pining and instalove and all that. But maybe I was just in the right mood for that this time? This story obviously had more time to develop and though I guess you could say it was instalove on one side it wasn’t obnoxiously so. One thing that sort of bothered me was how Levi really really seemed to hate her but had convenient explanations for everything and it was all a misunderstanding. I mean I liked it but also felt too convenient?? How would he not realize how he presented himself to bee? Anyway I will not dissect it any further because I liked it and it kept me entertained and made me laugh and I loved Levi so this book did its job.

Loved it as much as the Love Hypotheses, maybe even more because we got more of Levi’s thoughts. Bee’s trust and stability issues hit a bit to close to home, and I did cry reading some of her bits about those things. Also, I felt like I learned a lot about neuroscience, while also reading smut so absolutely a win-win.
