Not as good as the first book, but an enjoyable enough read if you can read past the more... uncomfortable... ideas. The fatphobia was a bit too prevelant, did not enjoy that.  Also, some very weird stereotyped portrayals of middle eastern cultures and a lot of weird misogyny both from the setting and side characters AND the protagonist.

I loved seeing the old characters coming back and seeing how their lives progressed after the ending of Howl's Moving Castle, but the new characters introduced in this one are honestly kind of unlikable, including the protagonist, especially the protagonist. I was reading for the cats tbh.

still being way too picky probably, i just needed it to get going and it didn’t, again i bet it was good but i felt like i wanted more interesting things to be happening if i was going to be forced to wait for the actual plot to start

This was a cute and whimsical read; however I was hoping for more of Howl and Sophie. The author has wonderful storytelling abilities and this was quite funny.....but I just wasn't that invested. Honestly, it was not what I was expecting, but I had an okay time reading it.

Not quite as lovely as Howl's Moving Castle, but I quite enjoyed it.

Perfectly captivated my mind and offered some excellent imaginative padding to the world and characters of Howl’s Moving Castle which I already love so much. I did NOT feel that it betrayed the original characters which is so impressive as I’ve felt close to those characters for so long now!! Might not become a rereader to the level of Howl’s Moving Castle itself but still enjoyed immensely.
