This book is a new adult book and the first new adult book I have read. To tell you the truth i like it so far. Beautiful Disaster is about a disaster of a relationship that starts out as friend and become a whole lot more. now there was points i wanted to throw this book because i was tired of the main character Abby denial of her feeling and how right her and Travis are for each other. a few times it was because of other people getting involved now there was some deep hurls in both Travis and Abby relationship from asshole fathers and sluts. Not the relationship might not be the most healthy but it still make me feel like they were met for each other. i honestly don't think any one else in the books could handle Abby or Travis the way the do each other. Abby doesn't let Travis just walk all over her and bring out the soft side to Travis. Travis is a bad ass and he knows it but with Abby he let his soft side show and would do any thing to keep her safe and happy. now they have their fight and break up but i get where Abby comes from with that because if my boyfriend started dealing drugs i would leave him because it would bring me in to a life style my dad interduce me to and made me want to stay far far away. now back to the book it had me drawn in to this world and wanting to know what happens. i started this book and Saturday night but read most of the book Sunday through Tuesday i had a little bit to finish this morning between classes. now the ending is a happy one and it good wrap up of the story but also leave the reader to image what happens next. not there a sequel/ companion book from Travis's point of view and i think i'm going to pick it up once i read some more of the book on my tbr shelf. Now i would not allow a child to read this i say 16 years old maybe 15 because of sexual scenes now that don't go in to pornographic detail but it doesn't gloss over it either. over all i got this book 5 stars and look forward to reading it again.

I find it hard to believe that this book is read by young people/teenagers, since if they think that the idea of what love is is reflected in this book, I honestly think that it is not.
Apparently the only "trouble maker" would seem to be Travis Maddox (the main male character), but when Abby (the main female character) breaks into the scene, it makes me think that she is even more damaged than Travis.

He is violent, controlling, stalker, and seems to feel he owns people as if they were objects. But Abby is a huge emotional manipulator, with her "today I want to be with you, tomorrow I don't want to be with you" and this is constant.
There are two more characters, America (Abby's best friend) and her boyfriend Shepley (who is Travis's cousin), these last two characters are constantly subjected to the highly toxic relationship that Travis and Abby have. So toxic they are, that America and Shepley begin to have problems in their relationship just by being around them.
I can't understand how someone could idealize Travis and Abby's love like a "dream romance".
Moreover, when Travis and Abby decide to take a big step in their relationship (something that could be considered beautiful, if they were not so dysfunctional), they do not involve America, or Shepley, that part seemed so horrible, because just share the horrendous with your friends, and when something nice happens not to make them participate, that speaks of how bad people are the two main characters.

If you want a clear example of what is known as a "Mary Sue," Abby is a clear example of that.
This is a series of 6 books, it's obvious that after reading this book, I will not continue with the series. Totally forgettable book.

This books is so full of everything. It has passion, danger, flirting, etc. This was the first novel I ever read and I still quite like it. The only thing I would change is the dynamic of the relationship because is mostly the same every time, they fight, she goes off in a car or leaves without telling him and they get back, it gets kinda icky but I still enjoyed it.

Jamie McGuire really just said, "I see your clingy, overprotective Edward Cullen and I raise you one destructive, domineering, codependent man-child, Travis Maddox". She heard the world wanted more strong, independent female protagonists and she came up with not-like-other-girls-because-I'm-actually-a-raging-bitch Abby 'Pigeon' Abernathy. She thought she could write the most annoying and unhealthy characters to exist and the world would just let her--and well, it did.

What in the toxic hellhole did I just read? I don't know what I expected, but Jamie McGuire did not understand the assignment. I wanted to put it down almost immediately but I thought that maybe it was all some big cosmic joke and the real protagonists would dance in on a cloud of sanity and make these obnoxious idiots gain a little self-awareness. And now I'm just left fuming that I finished it, second-guessing my own intelligence for thinking it could possibly be turned around.

Overall: I have never cringed so much in my entire life.

I randomly bought this book at the airport as it was 50% off and I was desperate for something to read. When I first started it I thought I would never finish it since it is not the type of book I would usually go for but somehow I got addicted and ended up reading it in three days. Mindless and easy to read, but a brilliant novel it is not. It's good to read books like this every once in a while.

3.5⭐️ I’ve read the book before the movie came out and for the first time I could say that the movie was better. I’m one of the readers who enjoy the book over the movie. But this time I liked the character in the movie more than in the book and maybe the condensed version of the storyline itself. As a suggestion, don’t read this book after seeing the movie.
