Dax and Reagan had a sweet marriage of convenience story. There wasn't any conflict or drama in their story. The secret didn't end up being a secret because almost every time Dax talked to someone, he told the story.

The major thing they had to deal with was Reagan's disease. It sounded terrifying. I loved the way Dax stepped up to be Reagan's emotional and financial support.

After reading Legend's book, I thought Dax's might be more intense. He and Reagan ended up with their HEA. I am interested in both Tacker and Dominik's stories. I am hoping they are better than just ok.

I like all Sawyer Bennett books...

They are well written and always tug your heart strings. This one though was a little lame for one of hers. Dax and Regan go through hard times and confusing feelings, I just wasn’t as invested in this story. Still a good read.

Hockey has always been the only thing Dax concentrates on. When his best friend Lance dies Lance's sister Regan is left without the one person who knows her secret but also is her only source of support. Once Dax learns of her illness he steps up and marries her in order to keep her insured. But can the two keep the relationship platonic? Or will the sparks that fly move them from a marriage of convenience to a marriage worth fighting for. With beautifully written characters that have to hit rock bottom before they can fly and a storyline that had me hooked from the opening chapters this was a great read. I now need to go back and read the rest of the series.

Dax Monahan is an all around good guy. We've seen this with his interactions in the previous stories. But now he's taking good guy status to the extreme. We know he's an amazing hockey player and the Vengeance is in a position to do the unheard of for an expansion team. Yet he's talking a chance to lose focus to help his best friends like sister out.
Losing Lance leaves Regan more than heart broken, she's is desperate need of help. When Dax finally gets her to open up here isn't prepared for the news she's dropped in his lap. Always one to act, he may be a little high handed, but he gets the results he wants marriage to his best friends little sister. We all know how well marriages of convenience end up... So much more than they bargain for.

This was very interesting from the very beginning. I absolutely loved the storyline that Sawyer gives you with this one. Dax is quite the character and you cant not love him. He seems to do everything for the right reasons. Regan just lost her brother, Dax's best friend. She is not dealing with things to well and has been left struggling with things. Dax finds out about those things and tries to do the right thing and help her. But will helping her bring them closer together and tear their friendship apart? I love Regan and Dax together. There is just such great chemistry between these two. I absolutely loved the storyline and how well written it was. This was a great gripping book from beginning to end. I will be reading the rest in this series to see what happens to the other guys involved with Dax.

Dax is the fourth installment in Sawyer Bennett's Arizona Vengeance series. A contemporary romance novel that, although part of a great series, I did not find it as stimulating as the other books on it. The bestfriend's sister trope is usually a very juicy one, however, I felt it lacked... something. I felt like the main male character was not consistent to how he was portrayed before and the female lead was just there. Not weak, but not with a particularly strong personality, either. I don't know, I was expecting something different. I dropped this book several times before actually getting into it and even though it was an "ok" read, it was nowhere near as good as the previous ones I've read. There was just not as much emotion. I don't feel like their couple moments were very intimate, and everything happened very quickly and lacked a better development. Plus, as LouLou said "It relied too heavily on their old connection that I didn’t really feel how their new romantic one." There was just... nothing. No slow burn, no intense attraction, nothing. I think if this is what Bennett was going to put out, it could have been a novella. It definitely adds to Tacker and Dominik's stories but other than that it just fell short for me. I give it two inconspicuous stars.
