The beginning was alright, but fell off at around 70%. Then it was mediocre until the epilogue. I think the epilogue was the best part. There’s a MASSIVE miscommunication trope in the beginning.

I started off this reading journey well, it felt similar to The Love Hypothesis where I had high hopes, and just as quickly as it rose, then came the fall.

Around the 50% mark, there had been some tension but nothing yet had happened. Then out of left field nowhereville, she calls him “Daddy”. This seriously comes out of nowhere and is literally never addressed or even said again; I’m still confused.

Love on the Brain also feels like a Love Hypothesis fan fiction. Bee is Olive and Levi is Adam. Olive and Bee are “I’m so small and fragile and quirky” girls while Adam and Levi are, “Big, strong, and sexy” guy. I don’t think this would usually be an issue for me if they just weren’t so closely recycled.

Btw leave the galaxy leggings in 2010. I don’t care how quirky your protagonist is, she does not need to be wearing galaxy leggings. Please, I’m begging you.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Ali Hazelwood but this book totally didn’t meet my expectations! I had super high expectations for this book ever since reading The Love Hypothesis and I just felt this book didn’t have as much romance or spice as well. It was cute, fun and very STEMie but wasn’t as good so hence the ⭐️⭐️⭐️ lol.

It was everything I wanted it to be. I can’t tell you how much I love AH’s style of romances. (I’m not saying AH is the only author ever writing women in STEM)
Levi and Bee were a great match. At first, I was constantly sighing frustrated that Levi is an idiot when it comes to existing. But then I started to think and I realized I usually do the same things when I have a crush on someone. So Levi thanks for somehow meeting the love of your life and actually keeping her so I don’t have to deal with real life relationships. I’ll definitely reread this story many many times.
As for Bree, she was great. She had a fun personality while being super smart and driven AND her favorite animals are cats. I mean… that alone means I automatically loved her.
My only issue was the third act conflict. But again, if someone wanted a real adult committed relationship with me (I’m 25) I would run the other way so it wasn’t a big issue.
I enjoyed this book. I was smiling stupidly the whole time because these scientists were pretty disasterous with crushes. But again, these crushes are the best.
Thanks AH, I can’t wait to read your next book!!

Weak ending and "villain".
"The Love Hypothesis" was better, but still a good time.
