3.7 AVERAGE

A fun distraction with morsels of wisdom and life experience.

I want to like it. I really do. But there’s a lot of overlap with his other book and I read that first.

I'm a little bit bummed I didn't like this book more.

I saw Nick Offerman talk/perform about 6 or 7 years ago when he was on tour with his show "Paddle Your Own Canoe." I thought it was really funny and he was really charming during that performance. For me, it just didn't quite translate in the written word. He had some gems here and there, but I wouldn't jump in excitement if a pal told me they were going to read this.

Maybe it's better in an audiobook. *shrug*

Meh. I had high hopes for this book, but it was actually quite boring. I'd hoped it would have been much funnier, especially since Nick Offerman plays one of the funniest characters on TV, Ron Swanson. But it wasn't. There were a few laugh out loud moments, but over all pretty boring.

Really enjoyable. Listened to the audio version narrated by Offerman.

I’m pretty sure I read this before I started keeping track of my reading. Still a great reread and I enjoy Offerman’s perspectives of Midwest life vs. West coast life. Comments about LA’s traffic and lack of transit capabilities are 1,000% accurate.

If you like Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec you will love this book, especially on audio. Just a note, it is very bawdy and he really does say whatever he wants. Basically, don't have it playing when you have kids in your car.

3.5 stars, I think my inability to adjust the audiobook play speed might have effected my rating. Great stories overall

Excellent and funny stuff. You don't have to agree with everything he says. Also hang in there, he says a few things then says "Yeah that was my character talking, not me"
I really enjoyed the audiobook, read by the author. Recommended.
