I was really looking forward to reading this book. Unfortunately it took me six months to force myself to finish it. This may sound dramatic, but this is honestly one of the worst books I have ever read. It's not funny, it's not interesting, it's not insightful. Very disappointing.
I really like Nick, and prefer his books by audio. His vocabulary is fascinating, his POV is very down to earth and entertaining!
Love Nick Offerman. Have to admit that I ended up a bit bored with some of the background, but I just love his opinions of everything. He's a delight.
Overall, a fun little journey through Offerman's trying ascent to fame and fortune, which he doesn't seem to take for granted or exploit. That's definitely a nice change of pace from most celebrities! So here are some highlights - he loves his wife. He loves theatre. He's got a great vocabulary peppered with just enough swear words to make him a truly midwestern farm boy. He makes shit from scratch. Bonus points - Offerman seems to be a genuinely ethical nice dude. Plus, this book made me laugh aloud several times! Great book to indulge your need for an easy and entertaining read.
The audiobook version narrated by Offerman himself really makes this a 5-star listen. Would probably rate it 4 stars if just the text.
Audiobook - 3.5
I listened to this while driving and really no other time so it took a bit longer to go through. I will almost always recommend listening to an audio book read by the author.

Listened to this one via audiobook. A lot of Nick Offerman’s personal opinions on how to live life, which wasn’t what I was necessarily looking for. Top highlights for me were the interview process and stories related to Parks and Rec, the woodworking stuff, and fact that somehow he lost 3 engagement rings in Paris when trying to propose to Megan Mullally (did that really happen?? How did he afford that?!)
Undecided how to feel about the fact that he sang out loud a love song he wrote for Megan in this audiobook.
