Very much enjoyed it. Witty and humorous, delivered in true Offerman style.

Listened to the audiobook, and it's the first one in a while where I just absolutely had to listen to it at regular speed. Nick Offerman's beautiful voice deserves to be listened to at 1x speed.

Also, the most relatable part of the book is that sometimes he would laugh at a joke that he wrote himself. I do that too! Good man.

This was great! Pretty simple tips for being decent to one another. If you expect Nick Offerman to be exactly the same person as Ron Swanson, perhaps take a moment remember this is the real world & not a Park & Rec episode before diving in.

I respect Ron Swanson, libertarian carnivore of Parks and Rec fame, but I genuinely admire the man who portrayed him. Nick Offerman's book isn't insanely quotable, nor is it really intended for the reader unaware of his distinct voice. That being said, it's a great insight into the actor's life and source of advice for his fans. Such graceful, humble guidance is offered within its pages. He leads by example; teaching of virtues like hard work and patience and empathy via true story.

I also learned by Kabuki literally translates into:
sing, dance, skill
Seems like pretty good fundamentals to me.

Loved the first half of the book. Second half meandered. Didn’t get deep into specific memories recently - kept it general.

This was the worst thing I’ve read in a long time. A lot of people seem to like it so idk, I guess I just didn’t get it.

It was holier than thou. It was condescending. It was a lot of “here’s my opinion and you’re entitled to your opinion but now here is an entire book about how I’m right and you’re wrong.”

Like, you’re preaching that television is terrible and waste of time… but you make your living as an actor on TV. And oh my god, how dare someone eat a chicken nugget. Piss off.

When he wasn’t looking down his nose at my life choices and just flat out pissing me off, it was dry and plain boring. I was expecting more humor (or I guess it went all over my head) and what jokes he did include fell flat.

It wasn’t funny. I wouldn’t recommend. After about 6 months of trying to get through, I think it’s time to file on my “did not finish” shelf.
