This book was enjoyable, I really enjoyed the concept of having someone be murdered but them continue living and dealing with the emotions of having to die. It was a different take to a regular thriller where the person just gets murdered. I both disliked Jet and also really did like her? She was super irritating at times and a complete ass but I kind of liked that she made it difficult for you to feel sorry for her.  I liked her determination to solve the murder. Her sarcasm really saved this book for me because it made some of the scenes in this book better, and the lengths that she was willing to go through, because she had nothing to lose, added a nice touch to this story.

Poor, sweet Billy, in a world full of boys, everyone needs Billy. He was amazing, so supportive and always there for Jet when no one else was. I really liked his character, and I also liked how Holly created their dynamic to be so powerful that every interaction between them felt so natural!! I enjoyed that. He is just a marshmallow that deserves the world!

I really enjoyed the writing style because there was a big focus on descriptions and I just really enjoyed being able to picture things.

So out of the three twists, I predicted the two main ones but didn't predict the minor one (Luke killing Emily).

Also, the letters in the book were really well done. They somehow made me feel emotional-especially the one for Billy and the one for the dog. The poor puppy! I think beside Jet's story the poor doggo screaming whilst Jet got hit in the head just did me in 🙈🙈

“He’d had to do that twice. Hold the woman he loved in his arms as she lay dying.”

i thought i knew the killer all along. but then the final twist at the end...

there's no questioning that i love holly jackson's books, and her adult debut was no joke. it was funny, sad, mysterious and trauma-inflicting all in one. jet and billy's friendship was so cute i was sobbing when
she died at the end. when billy told her that he was the killer and she figured it out, i was so happy because i never guessed who the killer was in any holly book. but that final twist at the end where billy's dad was the actual killer had me in shock😭
i highly recommend this book if you loved aggtm.

In klassischer Holly-Jackson-Manier ist auch dieses Werk wieder „plotty, twisty, with a touch of human element“.
