A fun start to a series that reimagines the Sherlock universe to center women and their experience in the time period. Enjoyed picking out the references to the original and will read more of these.

First in the series a great deal of time is spent introducing Holmes (Charlotte) and establishing the relationship with Watson. I was disappointed that much of the detective work was not done by Holmes, but by Inspector Teaddle. This series started on shaky legs, but now that it is established I have more hope for book two.

This book didn't live up to my (admittedly) very high expectations, but it was still an enjoyable read/listen. The voice acting, in particular, was commendable.
