Another very short and entertaining addition to the Singing Hills Cycle. Love Vo's world building is immersive and refreshing, and her jokes are great. This was a bit more straightforward than [b:The Empress of Salt and Fortune|51190882|The Empress of Salt and Fortune (The Singing Hills Cycle, #1)|Nghi Vo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1565188992l/51190882._SX50_SY75_.jpg|71836130], but perhaps it was because I was more familiar with the world and Chih's character (you do not need to read EoSaF first, but why not, they're both short and great).
